Jacquelin "Jackie" Boeckerman was born in Ohio, and as a young girl moved to Fullerton, California, where generations earlier, her relatives in the Bastanchury family originally settled.

She attended Sunny Hills High School, where she was in the color guard, and attended college at Santa Barbara State University.
She met the love of her life Christopher Lake Muir in 1979 and within months, they were married. They had two children, Jennifer and Russell, and she lived the majority of their life together in Garden Grove.

Jackie spent her life caring for others. When her kids were still at home, she juggled full-time work with their soccer, football and dance practices. When Chris's mom Alice fell ill with Alzheimer's Disease, Jackie made space for her mother-in-law in their home and took on primary caregiver duties. She also helped care for her father, Jack before he passed away. And for her mother Ruth, Jackie would stop by every night after work to help with her insulin shots and talk about life. Every weekend they would grocery shop and go on other adventures together. They were great friends.

Jackie found great comfort in her faith and loved to read anything she could put her hands on, but she especially loved to read and ponder Bible verses. She was deeply in love with her husband, Chris, and often spoke about the sanctity of their wedding vows.

She was funny and biting, stubborn and so kind -- a beautifully original woman who blew through the world on her own terms and touched so many people along the way. She used to call herself a TWIT, then grin because that meant she was Talented Witty Intelligent and Tactful.
For the last 16 years, Jackie worked in the insurance industry, most recently as a claims adjuster for Bristol West Insurance. She took great pride in working hard, helping people and doing her job with the highest ethical standards. She deeply enjoyed spending time with her coworkers, who recently decorated her office with a countdown calendar to her retirement, which was 17 days away.

Jackie and her cousin Candice dreamed together of trips to Europe and Vegas; she talked about doing a solo road trip to all the nation's national parks; she imagined spending time with grandchildren - both her granddaughter Mackenzie and the other kids her children hoped to have someday. She and Chris planned to work on their home in Fullerton together and get more time to enjoy each other.

Jackie passed away unexpectedly on May 17 at St. Jude Hospital, the same hospital where she gave birth to her daughter Jennifer, and where her granddaughter Mackenzie was born. She was surrounded by her family and pastor. And despite herculean efforts by the incredible staff, she slipped away from this world and into heaven to be with her creator and so many loved ones who went before her.

She is survived by her husband Chris; son Russell Muir, his wife Maureen and their daughter Mackenzie; daughter Jennifer Beuthin and her husband Jamie; brother Paul Boeckerman, his wife Sandra and their children Jake and Annie; cousin Candice Barratt and her son Morgan; and cousin Philip Bastanchury, his wife Anna Davis and their son Brennan.
